With today’s announcement from the New Zealand Government that New Zealand is now at Covid-19 alert level 2, the Board of Fencing New Zealand has made the decision to suspend fencing classes and competitions.

This means all clubs, school classes and competitions will be suspended until further notice.

The recommendation was made by the FeNZ crisis group which was formed recently and on the clear advice from the FeNZ Medical Officer Dr. Steve Fish.

The Board believes not suspending activities would be contrary to the new alert level 2 guidelines and increases the risk to all our members, athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and their families, as well as the wider community.

The Board strongly recommends all of you follow the alert level guidance and follow the advice and guidance of the Ministry of Health (MoH).  This advice will potentially change daily, so we recommend the web site as an important source.
