Effective for the 2006-2007 International fencing season (imediately after 2006 World Champs)
New FIE organisation rules for FIE events: World Cups and Satelite competitions - In addition to the current practice for Grand Prix and World Championship events, entries for World Cup and Satelite events will now also only be made via FIE web site through FeNZ. No entries can be accepted through the FIE site less than 15 days before event (world Cups) and 8 days for Satelite events. To ensure FeNZ can place entries in good time, requests for participation in all FIE events will now have to be received by FeNZ at the latest a calendar month before the event (World Cup and Satelite events - we will not make a distinction). Note that withdrawls should also be advised as early as possible due to penalty costs of approximately $NZ1000.
World Championships: Teams entries in each event will be limited 32 teams, comprising the top 16 in the world rankings and then 16 teams from a qualification limit for the four zones. There will be a maximum of 4 other team to qualify via the rankings from Asia/Oceania.
