Get in quick - there are just a few days left for people to nominate their coach for the 2006 Wattie’s Volunteer Coach of the Year. As a sporting organisation, we would like to encourage you to spread the word on the programme and get people nominating!
Nominations close on August 16 so there’s still time to nominate your star volunteer coach!
Already over 800 nominations have been received but with an estimated 70,000 volunteer coaches in New Zealand, there are a lot more that need to be recognised!
The awards are jointly sponsored by Wattie’s and Sport and Recreation New Zealand (SPARC), and demonstrate the outstanding enthusiasm and dedication that volunteer coaches all over New Zealand have for getting Kiwi kids involved in sport.
Every coach who is nominated goes in the running to be named Wattie’s Volunteer Coach of the Year and could win up to $5,000 towards his or her coaching development. Nominations can be made at www.watties.co.nz.
If that wasn’t reason enough, everyone who makes a nomination also goes into a prize draw. You can win one of two prizes of $1,000 cash, or one of two prizes of $500 sporting equipment for your school or club. All winners (coaches and winning consumer nominators) receive a year’s supply of Wattie’s canned products – that’s 365 cans!
Nominations close on August 16 so there’s still time to nominate your star volunteer coaches! Enter online at www.watties.co.nz.
