The Fencing New Zealand Board and Commission heads have been working hard on our 2019 / 20 Strategic Priorities. An external facilitator was engaged and the process included seeking input from the wider fencing community, a full day planning session in Auckland and creation of the final document. The process has redefined Fencing New Zealandís Purpose, Vision and Values and identified four key focus areas, Leadership and Governance, Operational Capability and Capacity, Sporting Capability and Capacity and Communications & Marketing. A copy of the full document can be found on the website under the Documents menu item under the Downloads section of this website.
Over the next couple of months I intend to get around all the regions to discuss the plan in more detail, and progress against each of the initiatives will be monitored at the monthly board meetings. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow board members, commission heads and the others who have helped pull this together, I believe it is a great starting point on which we can build and take the sport we all love to where we want it to be.
Mark Rance, President Fencing NZ
