Fencing New Zealand wants to appoint a Programme Director, an Operations Manager and a Partnerships Manager to establish and support the delivery of our National Development Programme for Under 15, Cadet and Junior fencers.
About the Programme: The programme has an initial focus on establishing a pathway to success at the next Commonwealth Cadet & Junior Fencing Championships. It will also provide the foundation for a broader national development and high performance strategy that will have a longer term outlook.
The Programme Director: The Director will be lead the establishment and implementation of the programme for our Under 15, Cadet and Junior fencers. This is a part-time position reporting to the FeNZ Board. It will attract an annual honorarium.
The ideal candidate will have team leadership and high performance sports management experience – preferably at national level, together with well-developed communications and relationship management skills.
The Operations Manager: The Operations Manager will provide administration and support services for the delivery of the programme. The manager’s role includes providing participant selection and registration services, pre & post tour organisation, supporting appointment and liaison with tour managers and coaches, training camp support services, programme budget and financial administration and records management. This is a part-time paid position reporting to the Programme Director.
The ideal candidate will have sports administration and events management experience, ideally at a national level. Understanding of fencing and strong networks in the New Zealand fencing community is highly desirable.
The Partnership Manager: The Partnership Manager is responsible securing grants, sponsorship and other partnership arrangements with organisation that will support the implementation and growth of the programme. The role may also include media liaison and communications. This is a part-time position reporting to the Director. It will attract an annual honorarium.
The ideal candidate will have fundraising experience, preferably with sporting organisations, together with well developed communications and relationship management skills. Ideally, they will have a good understanding of, and be well networked within, the New Zealand and international fencing community.
