President of Fencing New Zealand, Ken Claridge announced at the Annual General Meeting in March that he was stepping down from his Presidential role in the organisation.
Ken is looking forward to devoting more time to personal priorities, and will continue to work with the Board on specific projects. Board member Ian Perry is filling the acting President role.
A huge thank you to Ken for all his dedication and work in guiding FeNZ towards a more responsive and progressive organisation, and his commitment in attending events up and down the country.
Ken identified the Commonwealth Championships in 2012 and 2014 as highlights, as well as the increased participation of young fencers in Australian competition. He also noted that his goals of a more sound financial footing and the new constitution had been achieved.
