Preparations are well underway for the arrival of the New Zealand Junior Commonwealth team members in Jersey later this week.
Many of the fencers have chosen to prepare in the northern hemisphere in such places as London, Paris, and Bonn. Hopefully the weather up there isn't proving too much for them.
The team starts arriving in Jersey next Friday and Saturday in preparation for the start of competition on Monday. On Sunday night there is an official opening ceremony with a march of the flags of nations.
The team consists of Steph Wylie, Hamish Chan, Max Rolland, Haz Forrester, Dan Kahu, Bevan Dobbs, Oliver Agnew and Felix Boyce. Steve Clarke is the Manager and Ken Claridge the Chief de Misson.
