 Expressions of Interest are called from persons interested in the role of Team Manager for the Oceanic and Australian Juniors 2018 to be held in Melbourne 16 - 18 February 2018.

Expressions of interest should be sent to secretary@fencing.org.nz by 6 December 2017.

AustraliaFencers attending the Australian National Championships in Canberra who wish to nominate for inclusion in a New Zealand team at the competition should email secretary@fencing.org.nz no later than 10 November 2017. A nomination form and fee are NOT required.

Fencers are responsible for their own travel and logistics for the event.  A team manager/captain will be appointed for each team from the members of the team.

2017-10-30 21:38 - AFT Camp - call for nominations

AustraliaThe Australian Fencing Federation allows selected fencers from other Oceania Federations to attend their Australian Fencing Team Training Camps.

These camps are held twice a year and involve four days of high-level training with members of the Australian Fencing Team and other invited elite fencers, conducted by the Australian High Performance Coaches.

The next AFT Camp will be held in Canberra from 14-17 December. The OFC can nominate 4 fencers per weapon (12 in total) following nominations submitted by national federations.

The camp is aimed at elite athletes, and nominated fencers must have demonstrated a high standard of results at National or International competitions the OFC and the AFF will review all nominations before approving the final selection.

Please note that all associated travel costs and camp registration fees are the responsibility of the individual athlete.

Nominations should be sent to secretary@fencing.org.nz no later than 6 November 2017. A nomination form and nomination fee are NOT required.

AustraliaRegistrations are now open for the 2017 AFC Open & Veterans National Championships, to be held in Canberra from 8 to 12 December.

2017-10-24 22:01 - Oceanic Junior Championships 2018

 The 2018 Oceania Junior Fencing Championships will be held in Melbourne, Australia from 15 to 18 February, alongside the Australian Junior Championships.

The venue will be the State Fencing Centre in Arden St, North Melbourne

2017-10-10 21:16 - Youth Olympics: Buenos Aires 2018

OlympicsThe Youth Olympics will be held in Buenos Aires in 2018.

Any fencer considering nominating for this event should read the Selection Criteria set by the NZOC (here), in conjunction with the FIE qualification process. Alternatively these documents can be requested from secretary@fencing.org.nz

The New Zealand Olympic Committee selection procedure will be posted on the NZOC web site, and the FIE qualification process is available on the FIE web site www.fie.org

Aspiring candidates should note that all aspects of the selection criteria must be met, and the final decision on selection rests solely with the NZOC. Age restrictions apply and are set out in the FIE and NZOC document.

Fencers should also note that they must still meet FeNZ Selection Policy requirements relating to nomination for both the Asian Zone Cadet and Junior Championships 2018 and the World Cadet and Junior Championships 2018.

InternationalNominations are called from fencers interested in competing at the Asian Cadet and Junior Championships to be held in Dubai 24 Feb - 4 March 2018.

Prospective nominees should read the relevant part of the Selection Policy requirements for selection consideration before submitting a nomination. The Selection Policy can be found in the downloads section of this site.

Nominations should be on the nomination form that can be found in the downloads section of this site, and include payment of the nomination fee as outlined on the form.

Nominations should be sent to secretary@fencing.org.nz no later than 29 October 2017.

AustraliaJunior (U20) fencers are advised that the Australian Junior Championships for 2018 have been moved to 15 - 18 February 2018 and will be held in Melbourne.

Fencers should refer to the Selection Policy that can be found in the Downloads section of this site, for the minimum performance standards required for this event.

No decision has been taken on any appointment of team management at this time.

 Nominations are invited from fencers wishing to be considered for inclusion in the New Zealand teams to contest the Oceanic Teams matches that form part of the Championships.

Fencers should email secretary@fencing.org.nz no later than 15 October 2017, stating their name and confirming that they wish to be considered for selection, along with the weapon/s they wish to nominate for.

Team selection will be announced following the completion of the individual weapon event.

Note: a nomination form and fee are NOT required.

 This year Fencing North is hosting the Oceania Senior Championships in conjunction with our NZ Veterans Championship. This event will be held in Auckland on the 21st to 23rd October 2017.
