Following on from the decision of FeNZ at its Board meeting of 3 August 2014 to adopt the additional safety strap required for some models of Leon Paul masks.
FeNZ is applying rule m.25.7.f of the FIE rules ...
"The mask must contain two different safety systems at the rear of the mask, with the two ends of the straps of the systems firmly affixed to the two sides of the mask. These straps may be elastic or of any other material that may be approved by the S.E.M.I. Commission. Please refer to the examples in the drawings below: see www,fie.org

This ruling is in place and must be applied at all events in New Zealand.
