 A reminder that nominations are invited from fencers wishing to compete at the Oceanic Zone Cadet Championships to be held in Noumea, New Caledonia 6 - 8 October 2017 (Provisional  dates - these may alter slightly once the timetable is known). This will be a managed team.

Selection criteria apply and can be found in the Selection Criteria available in the Downloads section of this site, as can the nomination form.

An early nomination and selection process is available for those wishing to confirm their selection early. Nominations will be processed on a weekly basis and the outcome notified once selection decisions are made.

Nominations close 18 June 2017 and should be sent to secretary@fencing.org.nz.

 FeNZ congratulates Grant Tweddle on his appointment as NZ Team Manager for the NZ teams competing at the NZ and Oceania Fencing Championships being held in Wellington 30 September - 2 October 2016.

Grant will be contacting all NZ fencers entered int he competition.

 Expressions of interest are called for the position of NZ Team Manager for the Oceanic Junior Championships to be held in Wellington 30 Sept/ 1,2 October 2016.

The Team Manager will be responsible for the selection and management of the NZ teams in the teams events only.

As this event is also the NZ Junior Championships, individuals are expected to be self managing or have their own support or management for the individual events, and their general attendance.

Expressions of Interest should be sent to secretary@fencing.org.nz no later than 31 August 2016.

2015-11-10 22:12 - Nominations to Attend AFT Camp - Canberra

 FeNZ has been invited by the Oceania Fencing Confederation to nominate fencers who would like to attend the upcoming Australian Fencing Federation's national team training camp. Currently there are four places per weapon available.

The camp is to be held at AIS Canberra from 17 - 20 December 2015. Up to four places are available in each weapon. All costs including travel, camps fees and accommodation are the responsibility of the fencer, and all under age fencers will need to ensure they have appropriate adult supervision.

All nominations need to be emailed to FeNZ through the secretary@fencing,org.nz  address no later than 9.00pm Thursday 12 November 2015.

A nomination will be taken as a commitment to attend. No nomination fee is required.

Details of the current AFT and AFS membership, and the criteria for eligibility can be found on the Australian Fencing Federation web site.

 Congratulations to all the medal winners at the Oceania Cadet Championships in the foil yesterday.

NZ took Gold and Bronze in the Women's Foil Individuals, Bronze in the Men's Individuals and Gold in the Men's Teams.

2015-07-18 16:08 - Oceanic Cadet Championships 2015 - Nominations re-opened

 The Oceanic Cadet Championship 2015 has been classified by FeNZ as a ​NZ ​development competition​ and the following selection criteria will apply specifically for the Oceanic 2015 event.

Fencers are required to have competed in at least one age group competition, at either a local or national level.

Nominations have been re-opened and any fencer who has not already submitted a nomination and now wishes to do so should complete a nomination form (see downloads), deposit the nomination fee of $150.00 and submit the form to secretary@fencing.org.nz no later than 8 August 2015.

Those who have already submitted a nomination do not need to submit a further nomination, and will be considered for selection on the revised criteria above.

Note that this will be a managed team, and management / refereeing charges will apply.

 The Australian and Oceanic Juniors 2014, and the Australian U23 Epee will take place in Brisbane, Australia 27 - 30 September 2014.

Entry can be made through the Australian on line entry portal, and fencers must be correctly affiliated with FeNZ.

Fencers entering are required to have fenced in NZ Juniors in 2014 - as described in the FeNZ Selection Criteria on the FeNZ web site.

Fencers are expected to be self managing or have made their own arrangements for supervision. A team manager may be appointed if entries warrant such an appointment. Costs of the team manager will be borne by the fencers attending.

 Congratulations to all the New Zealand fencers attending the Oceania Cadet Championships in New Caledonia over the weekend.

Great results with Wai Ling Chan taking the gold in Oceania Women's Epee, Lucian Nightingale the Silver in Oceania Men's Epee, Sheldon Ogilvie the Bronze in Men's Epee and Daniel Keleghan the Bronze in the Oceania Men's Foil.

Congratulations also to the Men's Epee team finishing second. (Lucian Nightingale, Sheldon Ogilvie and Anthony Goh).

 Nominations are invited from all cadet (U17 on 1 January 2013) fencers wishing to participate in the Oceania Cadet Fencing Championships in 2013, to be held In Noumea (Anse Vata), New Caledonia 12 - 14 July 2013.

This is an open call, so that any cadet fencer may enter, providing s/he has participated in the New Zealand Cadet Championships in Christchurch.

Nominations should be sent to secretary@fencing.org.nz no later than Tuesday 30 April 2013 on the FeNZ nomination form, and a nomination fee of $150.00 made to the FeNZ account described on the nomination form. Please note: All entries must be made through FeNZ only.

 The Oceania Cadet (U17) Championships in 2013 will be held in Noumea, New Caledonia from 12 - 14 July 2013.

Countries competing include New Caledonia, Australia, Guam and New Zealand.

Details of selection will be out before the New Year, and fencers (and parents) should note that FeNZ are looking to send a full team.

 A second call for fencers wishing to attend the Oceania Juniors (U20) Championships in New Caledonia, 13 - 15 July 2012.

Air New Zealand has special deals going at present that will significantly reduce the cost of flights, so now is your chance to compete against Australia and New Caledonian fencers for Oceania Zone titles.

Some financial incentives will be available to those attending.

2012-04-21 18:06 - Oceania Juniors - New Caledonia 13 - 15 July 2012

 Nominations are invited from any fencers who may wish to compete in the Oceania Junior Championships in Noumea, New Caledonia, on 13-15 July, 2012. The Championships will include all three weapons - Sabre (13 July), Epee (14 July), Foil (15 July).  The event will be preceded by a camp, also in New Caledonia, on 11-12 July, 2012.  Nominating fencers for the Championships  are strongly encouraged to attend the camp.  The camp program will be released closer to the event date.

Nominations for both the Championships, and the camp should be sent to secretary@fencing.org.nz no later than 15 May 2012.

No FIE licence is required for the Oceania Junior Championships, and there is no limit to the number of fencers that may attend.  Selection for the Team events will be made following the individual events.

Any person interested in attending as a referee or as manager is also invited to nominate to secretary@fencing.org.nz no later than 15 May 2012.

Fencers will be responsible for all associated costs of attendance, including a share of manager and referee costs in the event that these positions are filled. Nomination by any fencer will be taken as a committment to attend.
